SocketTools Secure Library Edition is a collection of libraries that supports secure data connections over the Internet or a local network. It includes client interfaces for SSL-compliant versions of the popular application protocols PLUS all the standard Library Edition DLLs. Almost all details of the standard SSL protocol are hidden within the DLLs, enabling developers to produce secure client applications with only small additional considerations beyond those needed for non-secure versions of those same applications. It’s ideal for languages such as Visual C/C++, C#, Delphi or those languages that don’t handle ActiveX components well (or at all). The primary advantages to the Library Edition is performance with a minimal footprint in terms of memory usage and disk space requirements.

Of the eighteen libraries in the product, seven libraries provide client interfaces for secure versions of these major application protocols:

All of the libraries share many common attributes. The network libraries support both synchronous (blocking) and asynchronous modes of operation and also include the ability to log the Windows Sockets function calls for debugging purposes. All of the libraries are thread-safe and can be used in multithreaded applications.
